After almost claiming all football records, Christiano Ronaldo has gone another milestone in the world of social media after he made it 300M Instagram followers on Saturday.
The Portugal international is now the most followed human being on Instagram-the most followed social media platform in the world with 397M, Ronaldo’s most immediate competitor, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in second trailing the Juventus star by 54M followers on 246.
Ronaldo’s footballing rival Leonel Messi is 81M followers adrift of the Portugal captain on 219M follwers and sits seventh on the list of the most followed people on Instagram.
The former Real Madrid striker reached the milestone few days after he broke the record for the most goals in the European Championship, beating Michel Platini’s nine and now the five times FIFA Ballon d’Or winner has 12 goals in the competition, the most of any player. He also boasts of the most European tournaments appearances, Five.
He’s currently three goals short of Iran’s Ali Daei who holds the record for the most international goals on 109, with Ronaldo on 106 and the Former Manchester United player can beat the milestone if his country advances to the next levels of the on going 2020 Euro tournament.
