Barcelona Sack Coach Ronald Koeman

Catalan Club Barcelona have run out of patience and shown the dutch tactician Ronald Koeman the exit.

The club posted…

“FC Barcelona has relieved Ronald Koeman of his duties as first team coach. The president of the Club, Joan Laporta, informed him of the decision after the defeat against Rayo Vallecano. Ronald Koeman will say goodbye to the squad on Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva.”

“FC Barcelona would like to thank him for his service to the Club and wishes him all the best in his professional career.”

This followed a 1:0 loss to Rayo Vallecano that left them 9th on the La Liga table with only 4 wins from 10 matches, 3 draws and 3 losses. The defeat followed a loss to Madrid in El Clasico on Sunday and was third in the last four La Liga matches, including a 2:0 loss to Atletico Madrid on 2nd October,2021.

They currently stand third in group E of the champions league after winning only one match and losing two with fear that they may end up in Europa League.

However, their poor performance is also attributed to the financial problems that have seen players like Lionel Messi and Griezman leave the club. They are currently unable to make signing because of the financial set-backs and only recruited free agents Depay, Aguero, Eric Garcia and Luuk de Jong on loan from Sevilla.

Barcelona take on Alaves in their next match on Saturday before visiting Dynamo Kyiv on Tuesday 2nd November in the champions league.
