Among was a Member of FDC before she crossed to NRM in 2020 and ran on the NRM ticket for the Bukedea Woman MP seat. She was later selected as a choice by NRM over Thomas Tayebwa who was also vying for the same seat.

With NRM having 336 Members of Parliament and UPDF 10 Members, for Among to get 415 votes is an indication that even members of opposition and the independents voted for her.
