After numerous attempts to trace NUP social media propagandist Fred Lumbuye, his whereabouts have been traced.
The government state minister for Foreign Affairs Okello Oryem came out weeks ago to announce how the much wanted government critic had been arrested .
He added that they had for long wanted Lumbuye in custody to answer for his poisonous information relayed on social media.
The Minister further said that Lumbuye was going to be deported into the country soon and answer for his charges.
This forced NUP and Lumbuye’s sympathizers to criticize the Turkish government and call upon different international agencies to block the deportation of Lumbuye.
Rumors started suggesting that he had been brought back and even taken to Gulu military barracks.
When questioned about Lumbuye’s whereabouts, Police spokesperson Fred Enanga said that he didn’t know but they were also awaiting him to face prosecution.
However yesterday, Kyadondo east MP Nkunyingi Muwadda said that they had finally managed to locate Lumbuye who is very depressed in one of the foreign detention centres in Turkey.
“Finaly we Found LUMBUYE KAJUBI FRED detained at KOCAELI VILICIGI Foreigner detention centre in Turkey. He is alive&depressed/bored.His wish is to be free & possibly relocate to a safe country but not Uganda. He thanked you all.We are taking legal efforts.
#Shadow Foreign Minister.” Nkunyingi tweeted.
As of now, it’s not yet clear how Lumbuye got there and what the way forward for him is.
