Opportunity Bank Uganda Limited has opened up the first branch of the bank in Isingiro District in order to extend banking services to the region.
The branch was opened yesterday in Nakivale Resettlement Scheme where refugees live.
The bank said that the branch was opened with in order to improve the livelihood of the refugees in Nakivale by availing them with banking services.
“We (OBUL) believe our Nakivale branch will improve lives.” the bank said “Nakivale in Uganda is the oldest refugee settlement in Africa, with the most progressive refugee policies in the world. The over 100,000 refugees are from Burundi, DRC, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Somalia and South Sudan. ”
Opportunity is a fully fledged commercial bank of tier 1 of banking institutions and has been on a steady rise with increase in the bank’s assets, branch network and ATM locations.
The new branch will be Opportunity Bank’s 25th branch in the country.
