RwandAir Bans Flights From Uganda

Following a spike in COVID-19 cases in Uganda that has left a lot of sectors  adversely affected, Rwanda air has banned flights the Pearl Africa.

A few days ago the United Arab Emirates banned travels from a number of African countries which included Uganda. This was a huge blow to the country’s economy owing to the massive exchange between the countries.

Now Uganda’s neighbor to the South West, Rwanda, has become the latest country to have banned flights to and from Uganda.

In it’s official statement, the airline said that it sorry for this inconvenience and promised to refund the affected people if need be.

“Due to a surge in covid 19 cases in Uganda, Rwanda Air announces the suspension of it’s flights to Entebbe effective 10 June 2021 until further notice. RwandaAir sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience caused. Affected customers can rebook and fly at a later date, once flights resume at no additional cost- or request a refund.”

Despite the heated tensii between the two countries, flights have been operating normally and it’s expected they will resume once everything calms down.

The upsurge in covid cases saw President Museveni declare a partial lockdown on a number of public sectors such as schools and inter district public transport operations.

The second covid has been very fatal claiming hundreds of lives while leaving thousands of others infected.

People have been rallied by the government to observe the ministry of Health SOP’s put in place and also get vaccinated.
