The Police OC of Ruharo Police Post in Mbarara City CPL Agaba Richard has today Wednesday morning been gunned down by unknown assailants who are currently on the run.
The Police officer allegedly received a phone call from Muzamiru Kiiza at around 2AM in the morning about robbery that had happened at Step Up Bar in Kiyanja Cell, Ruharo Ward Mbarara City North Division.
On responding to the call, Agaba who came with a boda boda rider whom he used to ride him found that the thugs had runaway which necessitated him to follow them catching up with them at Palm World in Ruharo.
The two thugs were armed with a panga and a gun standing on opposite sides of the road. Agaba was at this time shot at by the one who had a gun and the two took away his gun No. UG POL 565823996 with unknown number of ammunition and ran away.
The boda boda rider fearing for his life also rode off and ran away. Agaba was rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital but pronounced dead upon arrival at around 3:00AM.
Police is still searching the thugs and has opened a police case Ref; 04/08/09/2021 as they investigate on the matter.
According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi region police spokesperson, the deceased is Agaba Richard NO.44109.
