The Ministry said that this is done to enable Uganda Security Printing Company to remodel the infrastructure as it takes over printing of driving permits from Face Technologies.
Face Technologies has been issuing driving licenses on behalf of the government since 2003 until when its contract expired in 2020 and a new company that is jointly owned by Government through Uganda Printing and Publishing Company and a Germany firm Veridos took over operations on December 1, 2020.
Ministry of Works and Transport will soon announce when regional will become operational again.
