Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards

Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards 2020 event cancelled. Pushed to 2021

The management of Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs) has announced the cancellation of the awarding event that has been set to happen in 2020 and has instead been pushed to the coming year 2021.

ASFAs described as one of the largest fashion awards in Africa will not happen due to the ongoing CoronaVirus pandemic. Event organizers said that they have considered all available options and found out that the idea of a virtual/online event will ‘ruin the idea and concept on which ASFAs started’.

The event has been happening every year since its inception 7 years ago. Of recent, the awards had increased African categories making the awards continental and embraced by icons from all over Africa.

The Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards also known as the ASFAs are continental fashion awards presented annually in Uganda to recognize excellence and outstanding achievement in the fashion industry in Uganda and Africa. More than 2,000 people grace the event annually.” ASFA’s management said in a statement.

ASFAs management has also promised to do planning in time to have the 2021 event happen despite the situation that will be happening. With the event receiving an excess of 2000 guests annually attending the awarding ceremony, ASFAs management has found it useful to postpone it in consideration of safety of its guests.

“…….after much consideration, putting into account the safety of our fans and guests, and also the need to give you a show that will be as remarkable and unforgettable like the last 8 years, we have made the tough decision to postpone the event to 2021.”

ASFAs is one of the many annual ceremonies that have been cancelled or postponed to 2021. The famous Afrima.org Awards did not award this year. Other awards events like HIPIPO Prestigious Awards chose to embrace the new normal and give awards virtually.

“To our loyal fans …. we do apologize for any inconveniences this may cause, but you can be sure to experience the ASFAs like never before, come 2021!”
