One person has been confirmed dead after a blast that happened in Komamboga a neighborhood of Kawempe Division, Kampala.
The explosion happened at Digida bar one of the common pork joints and bars in the area at around 9:00PM on 23rd October Saturday evening.
Confirmed dead is a lady confirmed identified as Emily while others were injured and rushed to the hospital according to the police statement.
The attack happened barely a week after the France and UK had warned the country about the impending terror attacks based on the intelligence gathered.
Uganda Police Force has confirmed the explosion saying that they are working hard to establish the cause and of the explosion.
“The Police at KMP, have responded to a serious blast which occurred on the 23.10.2021, at around 9 pm, at Digida eating point, Komamboga, in Kawempe Division, Kampala. One person has been fatally wounded and 7 others rushed to Mulago National Referral hospital, with serious injuries.
“The scene has been cordoned off, and our joint task teams from the bomb squad called to thoroughly document the scene, to help determine whether the explosion arose out of an intentional act or not,” Police said in a statement.
Police has asked citizens to remain calm as they establish the circumstances surrounding the explosion.
No terror group or an individual that has come out to claim the responsibility.
