Morris Mugisha’s Stain Scooped 7 nominations out of 26 categories while Tecora which was directed by Hussein Musa Roylicar Namfumba scooped 3 nominations overall in Africa Movie Academy Awards –AMAA 2021..
The list of nominees was announced on Friday night, 26th October 2021 at EbonyLife Place in Lagos, Nigeria.
Ugandan movie ‘Meat’ was also nominated in Efere Ozaka AMAA 2021 Award for Best Short Film while Noboth was nominated in the Best Documentary Category. “A Thousand Fate” was nominated in the Jubril Malafia AMAA 2021 Award for Best Animation.
Africa Movie Academy Awards – AMAA are continental awards organized annually to celebrate people and movies that have excelled in the film industry. Launched in 2005, AMAA are widely considered as the most prestigious continental awards in Africa’s movie industry.
Among nominations scooped by Stain include Ousmane Sembene AMAA 2021 Award for Best Film in an African Langauge (Morris Mugisha), AMAA 2021 Award for Achievement in Visual Effect, AMAA 2021 Award for Achievement in Cinematography, AMAA 2021 Award for Achievement in Screenplay, Best Actress in a Leading Role (Agaba Joan), Best Director Morris Mugisha and Best Film.

Tecora was nominated in the AMAA 2021 Achievement in Costume Design, AMAA 2021 Award for Achievement in Make-Up and AMAA 2021 Award for Achievement in Production Design.
