Following the announcement by Africell Uganda that it will be ceasing operations in Uganda on October 7th 2021, a lot of subscribers have already started purchasing sim cards of other telecom companies.
Some of these Africell Uganda subscribers include singer A pass who announced that he will be switching from the goat Telecom (Africell) to MTN Uganda.
Therefore if there was any company hoping to scoop up the services of the Wuyo singer, it’s probably late.

Africell announced that it will be ending it’s 7 year spell in the country on October 7th 2021 after incurring heavy losses and debts.
The company has been home to over 3 million subscribers according to it’s website.
They however announced that a plan is already in place to help customers get merged to other Telecom companies before they exit the Ugandan market.
Further, no new customers are being taken up as of now. The workers however will cease operations in November and Africell announced that all their salary and allowances will be cleared fully.
Their imminent exit of the Ugandan market follows other exits from giant companies such as ShopRite, The Game and Smart Telecom all in a space of two months.
