Both Joyce Bagala and Judith Nabakooba have spoken out after Court in Mubende yesterday ordered for fresh elections for the Mityana woman MP seat.
This was after NRM’s Nabakooba petitioned Court challenging Bagala’s victory.
Nabakooba has now gone ahead to thank all those who have been behind her in her quest of justice.
Thank you.
I want to thank everyone who believed in our victory from the first day and stood by us to make sure we reclaim it. I thank my Party, Party Chair & for the people in Mityana, you're deeply at heart!

Joyce Bagala on the other hand appealed to her supporters to remain calm.
She said that her legal team will challenge this ruling such that their victory is not snatched from them.
To all my dearest Mityana District voters and well wishers!
Please do remain calm. Our legal team shall appeal the ruling and I am confident that we will be victorious. I am undeterred in my aspiration to protect the will of Mityana People who voted for us overwhelmingly.@NUP_Ug pic.twitter.com/GfQiMAuvJH

She also proceeded to thank all those who have reached out to her to show their support towards her cause.
“I am immensely grateful for the kind messages, posts, & calls of encouragement that I have received from my Mityana voters, religious leaders, traditional leaders, politicians across the political divide and all change seeking Ugandans following the nullification of our election,” she added.
Nabakooba was beaten by Bagala to the seat she had been occupying for the previous term by 16000 votes.
