NBS Presenter Kawalya Isaac alais Kaiyz and other two were yesterday remanded to kitalya prison over offensive communication and criminal libel against singer Omulangira Suuna.
Kaiyz together with Brian Wako and William Nkuluri who all belong to next media services were remanded by Buganda Road Magistrates Court on Friday to kitalya prison until 15th October, 2021.
“I have been remanded to Kitalya Prison. All will be well my people. Admin,” Kaiyz Facebook page Administrator posted.
Omulangira Os Suna recently dragged Next Media Services (NBS TV, Sanyuka TV, and NXT Radio) to courts of law over defamation and character assassination.
Os Suna filed the case through his lawyers Robert Lutaalo and Precious Nahabwe from Elgon Associated Advocates.
According to them, the Next Media journalists Kaiyz, Wako and Nkuluri committed the offense on August 27th, 2021 when they made defamatory remarks against their client Os Suna when claiming that he is a witch doctor not the rightful owner of a storied building and a pine plantation that he had showed off.
Os Suna vowed that the media house and its 3 employees should pay him compensated with Shs1 billion for the damages caused to his brand adding how he is not willing to forgive them for making baseless allegations according to the documents served to NBS TV
The document further reads that Os Suuna wants the media to punish the presenters for belittling his brand.
