Chameleone Speaks out why he dumped NUP for NRM

Jose Chameleone has dominated the news ever since his controversial return to the NRM over the weekend.

Chameleone came out to reveal how he had never left NRM but was only playing the other parties like NUP and DP for political gains.

This was after he was gifted a new Range Rover by Michael Nuwagira, President Museveni’s brother.

Some people came out to criticize the Valu valu singer calling him a chameleon just like his name.

He however came out to defend himself saying that NUP disrespected him hence the need to go where he’s loved.

The singer said that meeting Bobi Wine was some hell of a task with the NUP principal behaving as sort of a god.

“Every Ugandan knows that I joined people power and my brother Kyagulanyi Ssentamu to fight for the rights of Ugandans. I woke up and went to Kamwokya and processed everything but getting to speak to Bobi Wine was not very easy,” Chameleone said.

This is something that entertainers who have deserted Bobi Wine’s camp have come to accuse him of.

The singer/politician’s sympathizers however say that these have to know that Bobi Wine is for Uganda and not a few select individuals who were used to him in music.

Chameleone then added that he was further disappointed for being denied the lord mayoral flag bearer position after Latif Ssebagala announced that he wouldn’t run for the post.

“NUP refused to give me the lord mayoral ticket for the flag bearer even after Latif turned back the card. So why would I remain in a place where I’m not loved. It’s better I be with the devil that loves me than a god who doesn’t care,” Chameleone added.

It should be noted that NUP instead gave the lord mayor ticket to Nabillah Naggayi Ssempala who wasn’t even part of the original vetting process.

This prompted Chameleone to run as an independent coming in fourth.
