Naseeb Abdul Juma Issack popularly known as Diamond Platinumz has come out to hail and applaud his country men for the love and support they showed him in his bid to win the prestigious BET award.
The Wasafi records CEO had been nominated in the Best International category alongside Nigerians Wizkid and Burna Boy.
This was Platinumz third nomination after scooping the first and second in 2014, 2016 and 2021.
He however has failed to add the gong to his already glittering career with yesterday’s award going to Nigeria’s Burna Boy.
He however took to his Instagram page to show his appreciation to his country men for their efforts in order to see him win.
“Through this award, I have seen how much Tanzanians have unity, love and value our own… I thank each of you for the love you have shown me… it’s a pleasure to see the world mentioning countries with the best musicians, Tanzania is mentioned. It’s something to thank God…and I believe we will carry it sometimes …I will be comforted tomorrow and the day after another artist is also in the matter of representing the nation, let us give him strength like you gave me….we are the nation of the Swahili.” Diamond posted.
He’s absolutely been one of the best in East Africa if not the best in the region for the past few years.
Platinumz is also a force to reckon on the African continent. The singer left a fashion statement on the red carpet after showing up clad in traditional Masai wear
Kenzo’s 2014 and Rayvanny’s 2017 win remain the only BET Awards to ever make way into the East African reguon whereas West Africa has dominated the awards.
