Centenary Bank injects 165M in Buganda Masaza cup tournament

Centenary Bank has committed UGX 165M for sponsorship of the 2021 Buganda Masaza Cup Tournament.

The sponsorship was announced yesterday on Wednesday afternoon at Bulange, Mengo of the launch ceremony of the 17th Masaza Cup edition.

The sponsorship is part of Centenary Bank’s 3 year sponsorship package that totals to UGX 465M which Centenary pledged to support the Masaza cup tournament with.

While speaking the launch event, Mr. Balikuddembe Joseph the Executive Director Centenary Bank said thanked “Buganda Kingdom for the continued effort aimed at bringing communities together,” and also explained the pride that Centenary has having partnered with Buganda in various kingdom activities and projects.

“Centenary Bank prides itself in being part of a longstanding and meaningful partnership with Buganda Kingdom. Not only do we sponsor the Masaza Cup tournament year on year, but we also are partners with Buganda Land Board, and engage in activities with CBS and BBS Telefayina“. Said Balikuddembe.

The 2021 Masaza Cup Tournament will premiered officially on Novermber 20th by the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II with Gomba FC opening against Kyadongo FC at FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

Owek. Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa who is the deputy prime minister Buganda kingdom in his remarks thanked partners including Centenary for supporting the cause highlighting the role of Masaza Cup Tournament as not only helping in developing talent but also “provides employment opportunities for our people.”

Alongside Centenary Bank, the other main partners in the tournament are UNAIDS and Airtel Uganda.
