In a bid to get a large share of Africell customers who are fleeing the network after it announced closure, Airtel Uganda has offered 50% data bonus to all customers who are switching from Africell to Airtel.
In a new promotion, Airtel says 50% recharge will be given to new customers of every data bundle recharge in next two months.

Africell announced plans to leave the country on September 07, after the company failed break even due to stiff competition from MTN Uganda and Airtel Uganda.
Africell has 3,000,000 who will need to switch to a new network provider by October 07, as the company permanently shuts down operations.
Customers will have a wide range of choice to choose their new network with Airtel, MTN and the newly fast rising Lyca Mobile being the favorite options.
