Rwandan President, Paul Kagame took to his Twitter account to react to Premier League side Arsenal’s loss in the League.
The 2021/22 English Premier league season opened yesterday with Brentford taking on Arsenal.
By the end of the game, Brentford edged out the North London club by two goals to nothing.
Disappointed as any other fan after hoping that this season might be a little different from the past, Kagame took to his Twitter to slam the club that he supports.
“What?? It’s football,it’s a loss of Arsenal at/to Brentford. Brentford deserved to win and they did. The game itself aside Arsenal and the fans don’t deserve to kind of get used to this….NO !!! I say this as one of the big fans of Arsenal. The change has taken to long to come.” Kagame tweeted.
Kagame went ahead to say that it’s been the way down hill for years now.
The President further said that the club should strategize in the transfer market such that this doesn’t go ahead for long.
“It’s been a struggle of about decade(s) -ups&downs-more downs until this point. Can’t we have a plan that really works?? One part to look at is how we deal in the market- players we buy to execute the plan. The touch&go mentality does not bring change.” President Kagame added.
Disappointed like any other fan, Kagame said that the Arsenal fraternity must not excuse any mediocrity at the club because it was built.to win trophies.
“We just must NOT excuse or Accept mediocrity. A team has to be built with purpose to win win win. So that when we lose….it was not to be expected! I am sure we all know on whose shoulders the heaviest burden rests. I hope they know too or even accept it!!! End.” The Rwandese president concluded his rant.
It should be noted that for his support for the club, Kagame even got Rwanda aboard Arsenal’s sponsorship.
